Affordable Housing

Housing costs are at a crisis point. Most folks can’t afford to own a home or even rent in some areas. I firmly believe housing should be affordable and accessible — no matter your stage in life.

We should partner with local, state, and national developers to make the dream of homeownership — or renting in a vibrant downtown — be less out of reach for folks. We should also address ways our city can help support those in need. Whether that is creating programs to support housing needs or pursuing every possible grant out there, we should do all we can to help the peop

Everyone needs somewhere to live; make it Kannapolis.

Growth and Development

Kannapolis is growing and changing. Those are good things, but growth needs to include everyone. This means giving every part of the city the attention it deserves. No matter what part of Kannapolis you live in, you deserve access to all our town has to offer — from major investments to new sidewalks.

Kannapolis is a great city with a rich history. Growth does not mean that we have to erase that history or our town charm. If elected, I will work to to honor that history, while also embracing smart growth and fresh ideas, so that we create a city that is a vibrant, inviting place to live and visit.

I also support sustainable growth, with key strategic plans for the short and long term development of Kannapolis. It is important that we aren't growing just for the sake of development. We should develop in ways that make sense, that help the people of our city, and that make positive impacts on our image.

Supporting Local Business

Workers and small businesses are the backbone of Kannapolis. We need to continue supporting the small businesses we have, and encouraging new ones to lay down their roots here. We should invest in strategies that help our local businesses succeed and thrive.

Folks living also here deserve good-paying jobs they can count on. That means encouraging larger employers to pay fair wages, provide stable employment, and provide positive investments back into our communities.

Local Healthcare

I firmly believe people should have affordable access to healthcare, and we should be pushing for better access and resources for all of our town’s residents.

I also believe in the importance of mental health. The process of finding and getting care for mental health can be exhausting and confusing. I’d love to see our town utilize partnerships with the North Carolina Research Campus and other local sources to find ways to improve this.
